Remember Me?

Remember me? I used to blog over at Romance Book Crazy. I closed it mostly because I lost my blogging mojo. But after almost a year of not blogging, I miss it. My reading life has changed in the last year. I used to read 10-15 books a month but now I am lucky if I read 5. My job is to blame. I used to work 10-20 hours a week and now I work almost full time. Bummer.

So with out further adieu....I will start blogging again.

Remember Me by Laura Moore

A rising star in the modeling world, Margot Radcliffe hasn’t forgotten the hurt that sent her running from Rosewood, the beautiful Virginia horse farm where she was raised. Travis Maher, a ruggedly handsome rebel and gifted trainer with a hard-knock past, had once captured Margot’s heart—and then gave it back to her broken.

But when Margot’s family is struck by tragedy, she is forced to set aside her skyrocketing career and return to a place she never expected to see again.......

Laura Moore has only published 5 books (that I know of) but that hasn't stopped her from becoming one of my favorite authors. Her last book was called In Your Eyes and it was published in 2004. I had given up on her and thought that she stopped writing. But a few months ago I saw in RT that she was coming out with a new book....not just one but a trilogy!

This book is a contemporary set on a horse farm in Virgina. Rich, privileged Margot has been in love with bad boy, from the wrong side of the tracks Travis for her whole life. As a girl she would follow Travis around as he performed his job of being a trainer on Margot's father's farm. Young Travis also had feelings for an even younger Margot but he could never act on them or let her know because he couldn't lose his job. A job he needed very badly. Finally, an impetuous teenage Margot tries to force Travis to admit his feelings.

When we meet the grown up Margot we see that she has changed. She is a strong, self-made and independent woman. She was great. Travis has not changed as much. He has become one of the most sought after horse trainers in the country but he still has a huge chip on his shoulder about not being good enough. This made him act like a total jerk sometimes.

One of Moore's strengths is her ability to make her other "secondary" characters stand out. In this book you come to know and care about Margot's two sisters as well. I'm sure their books complete this trilogy!

I love Moore's voice and her story telling. I'm not a horse person. Don't like them. They stink. They are huge. You can fall off them and hurt yourself. They can kick you and you can get hurt. They can bite you and you can get hurt. I. don't. like. them. However, when Moore writes about them I love it! I love hearing about the farm and how it is run. What the horses names are and how they will be trained. Her writing is so good it keeps me interested and I don't skip over parts. Amazing.

If you like bad boys gone right pick up this book. If you like impetuous girls that grow up and take responsibility for their lives, pick up this book. If you like stories about families, pick up this book. If you like stories of unrequited love pick up this book. If you like alpha (sometimes) jerky guys and the gals who love them, pick up this book!

While I loved this book I can't give it my highest rating because of Travis. He does a few really stupid things in this book and I just can't forgive him.

4 out of 5 stars
